About Fr. George Kandathil

Fr. George Kandathil (1920-2011) came from a distinguished Kandathil agricultural family from Vaikom, Kerala. He joined the clergy. He was sent to the US to study theology and psychology. There he came in contact with close associates of Eric Berne, Muriel James and Claude Steiner. He had the privilege to train under them. He was a teaching member accredited by the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA), based out of New York.
He returned to India in 1971 and soon thereafter some Indian Corporate clients were referred to him for training workshops. He was an unassuming strongly personalitied figure widely known and respected across India and abroad. He has been awarded the 2012 Muriel James Living Principles Award.

Fr. George is recognised as not being an individual he is recognised as being an institution. He dedicated close to 40 years of his life to spread TA across the breadth and width of India. He was hell bent to spread TA to the people on the street. K A Sebastian, A Sebastian, Prof. Siddarthan, Dr.Aleyamma Simon and K. Simon are making notable efforts in this regard in Kerala.

Fr. George had a profound knowledge of philosophy, theology and psychology. His love for TA combined with the essentials of giving people the opportunity to live their lives gainfully and successfully led him to found his own theory called Triology. Triology as theory combines the positive aspects of three ego states to enable a person to grow and to develop and achieve goals in life. It also helps one to realise one's identity as a person and realise one's aspirations.
